In 2020, Sjoerd graduated in the (selective) master’s Information Law at the University of Amsterdam. Before that, he successfully obtained a bachelor of Law degree. During his studies he gained experience within the legal practice. He completed internships and paralegal positions at various law firms. At these law firms, he focused on intellectual property law, more specifically patent law. Sjoerd has also worked for Clinic Law Incubator, a free legal advice centre with a special focus on information law. In addition, Sjoerd has been affiliated with the Institute for Information Law (IVIR), a sustainable start-up and a legal tech company.
Sjoerd wrote his master’s thesis on the assessment of the legality of press publications. He researched, among others through an extensive case law analysis, the differences in weight of the legal assessment factors of press publications.
Sjoerd joined Vondst Advocaten in May 2021. His work is mainly focused on the patent and life sciences practice group.
