Steven Moonen – Attorney at law

Steven is an attorney-at-law and UPC representative at Vondst. He specialises in complex patent litigation, particularly in the field of the Life Sciences sector. Steven joined Vondst Advocaten in 2020 after obtaining his Master’s degree in Law & ICT, cum laude, from the University of Groningen. Since then, he has built extensive litigation experience, both in complex international patent litigation relating to pharmaceutical inventions, as well as smaller-scale national cases concerning mechanical inventions. Steven also regularly advises on procedural aspects of patent law and on regulatory matters, such as marketing authorisations and data and market exclusivity.

Steven is furthermore a member of the Dutch Intellectual Property Association (VIE) and actively participates in working groups involved in the drafting and adoption of international (patent law) resolutions at the AIPPI World Congress.

Steven has registered the following principal (and secondary) legal practice areas in the Netherlands Bar’s register of legal practice areas (rechtsgebiedenregister): Intellectual Property (Intellectueel Eigendomsrecht). Based on this registration, Steven is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in each registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.
